Week 7 Overview
By this point you've cleared some major hurdles and should be feeling good about the start you've gotten on the Research Essay. We'll keep that momentum going throughout this week, by building on what you've already accomplished.
I'm going to bet you were surprised by the amount of work you got done during the Discovery Draft. We don't often get whole hours to devote solely to one task, sadly, these days.
Depending on what you did for the Discovery Draft, it's highly likely that you've gotten a good start on the outline assignment. Even if you wrote draft paragraphs, that content probably gave you a good sense of what you'll hope to cover as the research essay progresses. And even if it doesn't, you'll be set to pounce on the 750 word Draft due this week.
Though I recognize there's a lot contained in this week, I encourage you to keep the Annotated Bibliography Project in mind, as well, which will be due next week. Work on that as much as you can, by continuing to track down sources that are helpful to your writing.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
At the end of this week, you should be able to:
- Articulate a list of arguments supporting your side of a thesis, and anticipate opposition coming from opponents
- Draft a detailed outline of a research project

These resources are not (usually) mandatory, but will often prove valuable in helping you complete other assignments within the unit. Use them at your discretion.
